ARA-290
ARA-290 selectively activates the Innate Repair Receptor (IRR) — a tissue-protective pathway that heals damaged nerves without the immunosuppressive effects of EPO. It's specifically studied for small fiber neuropathy, diabetic nerve damage, and chronic inflammatory pain conditions where nerves need repair, not just pain masking.
About ARA-290
ARA-290 was developed to isolate the tissue-protective properties of EPO from its erythropoietic activity. Research demonstrates activation of the innate repair receptor complex, which is expressed in response to tissue injury and inflammation. Studies explore effects on neuropathic pain models, diabetic wound healing, cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury, and sarcoidosis-associated small fiber neuropathy. Clinical trials have investigated its use in chronic pain conditions and metabolic neuropathy. Its mechanism provides insight into endogenous repair pathways activated by EPO signaling.
